2. We Are to Give Sacrificially
Joseph Smith taught the following principle:
A religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation. (Joseph Smith, Lectures on Faith, comp. N. B. Lundwall [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, n.d.] 58)
Giving should be a sacrifice: a sacrifice that shows where our hearts and our pocketbooks really are.
