Pride gives way to humility
Pride can be replaced by humility. When you humble yourself, you remember that your wealth isn't your's, but that you are a steward over the blessings you have been given. As a steward, you realize that it doesn't matter what others think about you; it only matters what the Lord thinks of you and what you think about yourself. As you strive to do what the Lord would have you do, pride is replaced by humility. We remember the Lord’s loving counsel to the prophet Joseph Smith when He states:
And again, verily I say unto you, concerning your debts—behold, it is my will that you shall pay all your debts. And it is my will that you shall humble yourselves before me, and obtain this blessing by your diligence and humility and the prayer of faith (D&C 104: 78–79).
Humility brings with it great blessings, as indicated by the loving counsel given to Joseph Smith: "Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers (D&C 112:10).
