By Our Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI, AUG. 17.
As websites continue to crowd Internet, new ideas are being tried out to
gain attention. The latest concept being tried on the web is open
learning, wherein degrees will be available through education on the
Internet.
Called openleamingworld.com, this site offers on-line education and
training to personnel of large corporations, professional training
institutions and even academic institutions. Having tied up with the
All-India Management Association, Manipal Academy of Higher Education,
National Institute of Advertising as well as the Institute of Management
Technology, the portal now invites online enrolment.
Further, the site has a "subject expert channel" which has experts on
specific subjects providing online advice to students. With tie-ups and
distinguished experts, openleamingworld.com hopes to enhance the value of
its degrees, diplomas and certificates in the coming days.
According to the chief executive officer of the site, Mr. Anurag Jain the
portal has used the latest technology, including multimedia, to make
screen based learning an easier option. "Our effort will be to provide
up-to-date information on various courses and offer maximum exposure to
our customers, enabling them to get a degree sitting at home through the
Internet."
Students interested in taking up one of these courses will have to
register online and take admission to the course of his or her choice.
Besides, the portal also offers chat and e-mail options to make it a
"complete website" for its customers.
