Step 1

• Write out all the features you can think of for all your products on cards.

 

Step 2

• On the back of those cards write all the possible benefits for different types of customers that you deal with.

 

Step 3

• Practice them.

 

Step4

• Increase your product knowledge, because without it, you won't know all the features and therefore cannot possibly know all the benefits.

 

Step 5

• Ask yourself the following questions: How will my products and services satisfy my customers? What problems do my products or services solve? Why will my customers buy what I am selling?

 

Step 6

• Decide on your unique selling proposition and feature and how customers will achieve benefits with them.

 

Thus sell the Light, not the candle; sell the warmth, not the fire; and sell the profit, not the cost. And this is possible if and only if you have thorough product knowledge.
