FREE online courses on Quality Management System - Quality Planning - 3 Prepare quality plans Quality plan is a document setting out the specific standards, quality goals, quality practices, resources and sequence of activities/processes relevant to a product. Quality Control Quality Plan Implementation For effective implementation of quality plan following steps should be followed:
Education and training Quality plans in the form of product standards, work standards, work instructions can be made in excellent form, but when they are distributed to employees, in most of the cases the employees don't read it. Even when some of them read it, they may not understand it properly. Therefore, it is essential that all employees be properly educated and trained by competent personnel/supervisors about how to use the quality plan documents to achieve the quality goals. Education and training should not be in the form of normal classroom lectures only, but it must ensure that every employee has properly understood the quality plans and has developed adequate skills to perform his/her task to achieve the quality goals. Implement the plan Once the employee has acquired the desired competence, delegate authority to him/her to perform the assigned task as per the plan. Any plan cannot be implemented by instructions or orders alone. For proper implementation, employees must be motivated to volunteer their services to produce and deliver quality. To maintain proper implementation discipline, any deviation from the plan must not be allowed. Senior managers and supervisors should demonstrate adherence to the plan in their work areas, to set an example and communicate its seriousness by action.
