The Himalayan Mountains are a good example of mountains formed by
continental plate convergence. India used to be a small continent,
but it is currently colliding with Asia. In the upper right-hand
corner of the picture you can see where the Himalayas have formed in
the area where the two land masses meet. The Himalayan Mountains are
still growing as the two plates continue to press against one
another.
