The furniture and lights should be such so as to enable people to work in silence without fatigue for a long duration. Make people realize the importance of keeping the table clean and arranged with all the needed things well within reach.

A cluttered work place is a reflection of a cluttered mind.

Keep only the material that is being presently attended to. Think of the ways in which you can make your work place like the ideal environment of your dreams.

Keep your thinking simple

Don't let your thoughts derail.  Keep a matchbox with you and take one stick out of the box every time you catch yourself entertaining a thought unrelated to the task that you are attempting presently.  Don't get discouraged with the initial results. Just keep on persevering till you come to a stage when you almost don't need to take any stick out of the box.

Tune down negative thoughts

  • In case you want to concentrate on a left brained job, it is better to tune down any negative and subjective right brained thought after listening to it momentarily, unless it is intuitive in nature, giving you a new insight into some matter. Jot down this intuitive insight and get on with whatever you are doing.

  • Ignore all negative statements and questions from the left-brain if you are intending to concentrate on a right-brained job. However, if you hear a spontaneous intuitive insight in the garb of a left-brained message, be careful to pay heed to it.

  • Sometimes intuitive insights can be so full of logic that they appear to be coming from the left than from the right brain.
  • Follow work-slots of two hours -- three units of forty minutes each.

  • The units should be inclusive of the five minute-breaks, when no meetings (even with the boss), no visitors and no phones should be attended. Telephonic-messages can be taped on answering machines.
