Social Environment
The social environment is built around the attitudes, the
desires, the expectations, the degree of intelligence and education, the beliefs
and customs, the religion, the caste and creed of the people. The social
environment is built in centuries and hence it is deeply rooted in the society.
The social environment has an important impact on the business and the
organizational productivity.
Social factors create an attitude towards the work, generate
the product choices, and manipulate the consumer behavior. It is well known that
it took a lot of time to convince the farmers in
India
about the use of fertilizers. It is
recognized that rural marketing is different from the urban marketing. Inspite of the technological advances,
frozen foods are not finding consumer preferences. Introduction of computers in
the service industry is still a difficult proposition. A number of such examples
can be cited to prove that the social environment affects business and makes the
manager's task very difficult and challenging.
